Led by the practice owner, Carey A. Beyor, LMFT, CIT, this Women's Trauma Support Group is based on the Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Model (TREM) in which Carey was specifically trained. This is an evidence-based model designed to assist women recover from childhood abuse and neglect and/or relationship trauma. The first several weeks focus on skill building, safety, and limit-setting, in order to prepare clients to cope with the symptoms they experience. Whether a member discloses her trauma history is entirely up to her, when and if she feels safe and has enough support to do so.

Group members (adult women) are asked to have a "point person" which means they are required to be engaged in individual therapy prior to the start of group. If a member does not currently have an individual therapist, referrals may be provided (including Carey and/or clinicians at Transitions).

If a member is not already being seen by Carey, an Initial Assessment with Carey needs to take place prior to group to determine fit. Both the Assessment and Group sessions can be covered by accepted insurance plans* (*subject to co-pay, co-insurance, and/or deductibles due at the time of the service).

Please don't hesitate to contact Carey if you are interested. We are looking for more good members to help this group feel solid and safe...
